If I was a man, I'd ask her to quit smoking and marry me.

  1. A comment on the NY Times' "Damsel in Distress" article perhaps, my dear favourite fashion bloggeuse?!

  2. Mmm, mouais... By definition Res, saying that fashion or style is like this or that for ever is of course self-defeating. Besides, I don't think we'll ever stop having jabot (ruffles) just because women are socio-economically breaking ground all the time :) The entire industry that supports fashion/street style is also evolving faster than the author will be able to post her next article. Why? Because nowadays we are talking about precisely an industry, with a bottom line, be it that of the designers, the media that disseminate that info, etc. Even the fact that bloggers (ordinary people/consumers) nowadays can publicly participate in this discourse is misleading: fashion and street style are directly related (if only because one is the real life application of the other) and it's been the case since fashion was expanded to the middle classes, that is since mid-17th century Europe! The difference is that then, all you had was trend-setters (which you still have today, like Agyness Deyn) and now designers have a range of tools to explore what women need/want/dream thanks mainly to technology (and not only the internet and blogs, but also product R&D or powerful market research tools).
